My rate just went through the roof!

Did you actually talk to the loyalty dept., or just the person who answered the phone??


Hopper 3 and no it doesn't work WITH Wallys, that would be Joeys, but you can have purchased Wallys that you can use along with the Hopper on 2 other TV's
Absolutely, it took some doing and having to explaining to a bunch of other people but they finally transferred me to customer retention. Also, the last time I called which was the day AFTER my contract expired. They made me pay in full at that time for the following month (at the higher rate) and told me once the account showed credited they would THEN talk to me again about offers and said if I left they would pro-rate me a refund for the rest of the month.

Thanks for clearing up the Hopper 3 and Wally's I know if I get a hopper 3 and 2 joey's that would really drive up the bill so the thought of just a Hopper 3 (rental) and my 2 (owned Wally's) won't fly. Plus I think they might have to replace my old dish on the roof. Again thanks to all for your suggestions, I plan on going into battle again with them next week, I am almost curious what new excuse they will come up with to try to hold on to me for another month. haha, I just have to stay positive and laugh as dealing with dish is such a chore.

I guess this silliness is another reason Dish lost approximately 1,075,000 net pay-TV subscribers in 2024 according to StreamTV Insider. I guess more and more people have had enough and just cut the cord.

Curious, does anyone know the technical reason why a Hopper 3 will not peacefully co-exist with 2 Wally's or is it the fact Dish just won't allow it?

Two Wallys can coexist just fine with the H3 you just need to buy them.

Which part is the silly part. The one where your bill when up when your contract expired and you didn;t look into how to prevent or overcome that? Or the fact that square pegs don't work with round holes?

Wallys are not part of the Hopper/Joey system, which is a whole-home DVR where every component works together to give you a shared experience in every room.
Wallys are stand-alone boxes that only work on one TV and do not share their functions with other rooms.

Hipkat, I don't wish to get into a back and forth session with you but please read all of my posts before you make the comment about what I didn't do. Just to recap, one week before my contract expired I contacted them, they told me I would have to wait until my contract expired, I called them the day after my contract expired, they then said they could not do anything because I was in the middle of the billing cycle. I then called back again a week later, they then told me I have an outstanding balance with a higher rate, I then immediately paid this balance which they told me would be pro-rated and then refunded if I leave and don't renew. After that they said the payment needed to clear and to call back in about one week.

All calls and actions were completed with "Customer Loyalty" so short of going to the headquarters of Dish I have done absolutely everything in my power to resolve the situation.

Bottom line is I will be calling this next week and will resolve this. You ask what is silly, I will tell you, all this Bull$hit I am being told by Dish Network employees. And as far as the Wally's are concerned, they don't need to talk to the Hopper 3, they just need to work on their own and be independent, the only reason I am considering using this configuration is I own 2 Wally's and going to the Hopper 3 will keep the bill down as I would be only renting 1 new receiver. So hopefully this clears up the issues on my part.
