What happens Nov 14th?

Its the night of the Dish Network Tech Chat, where Charlie has said inthe past details of MPEG4 would be talked about.

Will all the plans be announced? I highly doubt it. I would expect more info at CES on Dish Networks MPEG4 plans.

DirecTV is now running LIL HD in MPEG4.

Dish Network has some catching up to do.

Other than D* running LIL HD in MPEG4, how else has E* fallen behind? They have the Voom channels and the only channels that D* has that E* doesn't is ESPN2HD, and INHD1 & 2. I am not being a smart ass, I just need the education. Also, explain LIL. Thanks.,

Directv doesn't yet provide INHD1 & 2
but that is rumored to be changed in near distance future.

LiL means Local into Local
meaning your local channels in you local area Tv market, generally Broadcasted Over the Air
but available to Cable and Satellite Providers

I hope i made it clear

That makes sense. I always figured I would use my OTA for HD locals, but having them through the satellite would offer another option. I am sorry, I thought D* was already offering InHD 1 and 2. I guess I was wrong. Other than D* offering LIL, how are they superior to E*? I always heard that D* customer service was horrible, they compressed their HD and SD resolution into oblivion, they over promised on future satellite launches and future HD channels.

I switched to E* from Voom once they went under, so I read up on which company would offer me the most. It seems Voom still had the best PQ. Yet, it scares me that we have to pull teeth to get Charlie to add HD channels. Hopefully now he understands there is "good content" on HD channels.

Has D* resolved their issues? If they are clearly the leader in satellite TV and HD programming I will refer my friends to them, and switch my service to them.

Myself and many others cannot get OTA channels, often due to line of sight issues or "out in the boonies syndrome".

I need HD locals through my satellite box.

Others would like it just so they don't have to fiddle with antennas and cabling.

Dish needs to roll out MPEG-2 HD locals as soon as possible -- in time for the holiday season so they don't lose sales to Direct.

MPEG-4 and the necessary receivers and upgrades probably won't be available until late next spring at the earliest.

Dish really needs to pee or get off the pot.

B4U Global Music Channel now on Dish Network

what channels are avaible on their own?
