From my tests, it is just with the Netflix app where 5.1 is only sent from the Netflix app over Optical out.Is 5.1 not working on just Netflix and you have to use the Optical ? Are Dish channel effected by this issue?

Yes I do sub to Netflix 4K. Currently I use an Amazon FIre TV box.
When I select a video I know is 4k on Netflix with the H3 it doesn't show it as UHD.
i am also paying 12 dollars a month for the ultra 4k hd package on netlflixYes, the Netflix 4K plan is $12 per month. I don't know exactly how the free Netflix deal works as I don't have that.
