Is there a way to keep channels to which you dont subscribe from showing up in search results? Why would I want to find a program on a channel to which I don't subscribe?

I think you got to lock out the channels...

You would think that an active Favorites lineup would block it out.

In the Guide you can do this by pressing the guide button when the guide is already up, but I understand what you're talking about because there doesn't appear to be a way to not display filtered results in the search results area. It's really rather annoying.

It's a way to possibly get you to subscribe to the channel that has what your looking to watch.
