Quetzsat 1 crossed 70W this morning on it's way to it's planned permanent home at 77W.
Is it going there for service to Mexico as originally planned? If not, what will be the purpose?...Maybe I'll be able to use my 1000.4 fully since there's nothing on 77 for me to receive in the northeast.

I use satellite-calculations.com for my updates. The very first script on the site generates the current location and all kinds of info for each and all satellites in GEO orbit, all in one table that updates as new epoch data comes in. No need to look at the master data tables generated by space track.org.So I think what you are saying is that Quetzat 1 is indeed above GEO in order to go West. Apologies to mike123abc. He was right to begin with, as usual.
