OTA RECORDING PROBLEMS dish please fix

I said the ota recording problems were fixed in my HOUSE and my AREA and I also said at the end of my post that I hoped that they fixed the ota problems in the REST of the COUNTRY for those that are having them. I was only posting about my experience in my first week that I have had with the hopper 3. I won't be posting about my GOOD experience any longer, if it bothers you so to hear about it. I was trying to test the ota recordings and see if what I did worked for anyone else, as a service to those who wanted to know. As usual your experience may vary from mine.
Hey brag away man [I am] personally I get tired of reading complaints all the time, I like happy endings :biggrin

The big reason for me is "weather proofing", if Dish reception is out due to heavy rain, OTA will still work.

But, I see they are predicting a drought this summer, so maybe it won't be a problem before Dish gets it sorted out.

Oh Yes. That is why have back up ota as well. Used it last night during the rain storm. Also for the sub channels. I also have basic cable split off from my cable internet to back up my tvs on their tv tuners.

Well my three day streak on good ota recordings has ended. After testing multiple ota timers for the last 3 days today I had a return to audio drop outs and pixelation on one ota recording set on Metv this morning for the Lucy show. This should be good news for JSheridan. So I prematurely said my ota recordings were fixed. One thing I do NOT like on my hopper, is the pop up message that comes up while I am watching a satellite stations or a recorded event , that asks me whether I want to record an ota channel or not. Why is this necessary? It should just fire without interfering with what I am watching on tv, like my hopper 2 did.

The only thing about this that is good news is that the information posted here is now accurate. :)

That work for ya?

Mine messes up every couple of days. Live programs are fine. It doesn't happen if I reset it (via the red reset button). Do I need to do this daily?

I got three days worth of recordings with no issues by deleting all ota channels and timers then unplugging the receiver for a power cord reboot. Then rescanned all ota channels and then recreate the ota timers. But it went back to crap on the 4 the day. So you could try a daily reboot and see if it helps.

So, did you try it a second time? And yes, a daily reboot might work...

Actually no. I decided that for the one show I was actually recording was the old Lucy show , I would just stop recording it till they fix the ota problem. But I might try it again this weekend just to see if I can get another three days again. But I have done the red button reboot thing here and there and it made no difference in the playback on the recorded ota show.

Well last night after work I tried to delete all ota channels and they came back , so I unplugged the tuner to the hopper and let it reboot and then I did a power cord reboot too. Then I rescanned all the ota channels and then created some new ota timers late last night. Today all four shows played fine. But of course the older ota recordings made before last night, still played with pixelation and audio drop outs. The most I get out of doing this is three days with no issues , then I am back to crappy recordings again. Seems like a lot of work just to get three days without ota issues. They just need to fix it, like yesterday.
