So you choose not to let the technician do his job, that he was trained to do, that he gets graded on by metrics which determine his his pay rate, in many cases.
I mean, it costs no money to hear him out and say no.
NO. I just don't sign up for a call of this nature. I am not interfering with anyone doing their job and said nothing to suggest that.

Seems more like he said he refuses a tech visit because he considers it a sales call. And after 13 years in this business, I've seen enough people try to do things their selves and do it wrong and I also know that work orders are becoming less than less and any chance there is for a technician to go do his job and get paid for it is more important to me than some guy who can't just simply say no thank you while the technician is there.

You are taking this much too personally. I realize you want your people to have work orders so they can put food on the table. I also realize that if they have no work orders there is little need for a leader for them. All that put aside it takes all kinds to make up our population and they will not all agree with everything. You have to take your wins gracefully and take your losses just as gracefully.
