Thanks to somebody, possibly Brittany, the "no LOS" flag was cleared and I called yesterday and got an appointment for Monday. Via found an opening and sent another tech out this afternoon to try aligning my dish. Oh boy! The last guy was questionable, but this guy was worse! He actually stared in confusion at my 8-way coax splitter not understanding that the family room jack nearest my Hopper would work for the MoCA signal, and all he had to do was find the signal and put it in the input in place of the FIOS TV feed. I even unscrewed that one to help him out. I read aloud the fact that the coax in this house was swept to 3GHz. He still thought a wireless Joey might be necessary.
Then he took my 38" mast and, as though it wasn't important, proceeded to mount a dish at the wrong end and wave it about looking for signal! I didn't say anything insulting to this guy or the last, but gee. He claimed he saw low signal on 61.5 which I believe considering how close he was to the house. This 2nd guy again verified his terrible working conditions (no pay for this job if he can't complete it) and (this is new) a God-awful supervisor who he hates to work with. That piece work model is not a living wage.
This makes the 3rd trip by a Via tech and still no satellite service. My H3 is still crash-happy without that signal.
