Keep getting an error 004. Something about "Press guide to view a different channel, if this message persists reset the receiver".

Is my hopper dying? Other hopper has no issues.
 
I wouldn't think the receiver is going bad. Most likely a check switch test will correct that area. You can run the check switch by press Menu, settings, diagnostics, Point dish, highlight check switch and press select and highlight test and press select. If you get any error messages DO NOT SAVE the results and let me know the error number.
 
I had the 004 issue once. Had to reboot the DPP44 (unplug all receivers, unplug power inserter for 10 minutes) to fix.

I ran a check switch and it detected no issues. This problem only occurs on my hopper. The hopper in the living room works fine.

It seems like I have this issue the most when setting up my DVD recordings.
 
Last night I set timers on 3 receivers. Today I go to watch my recorded stuff....NOTHING recorded!

Edit, 1 of the channels did record, the other two did not.
 
My guess is he doesn't have an external switch in his system. Pretty sure he just got installed in the last couple months. I know 004 is channel signal loss on the other receiver models, not sure if it's the same for H/J. Could be low signal on a particular transponder. Odd that it's only happening on 1 Hopper though.

Only issue I've had was a short stinger on one of the jumpers from my 44 to 33 switch, but that caused the whole system to go down, and it wouldn't pass the check switch.
 
I think a tech visit is needed. It could be bad cabling or a bad LNBF. There is a slim chance of it being the Hopper itself but more likely than not I bet it's cabling/LNBF.
