Glad you got it back up and running. Did you order a pre-made cable or make one?
Please Help Larry1! or Others
The link to your RS232 to TTL cable is showing"file not found"
Here is a link with photos showing where to attach the wires from the USB---> TTL adapter: http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/micro-hd-recovery-cable.345296/#post-3591912Greg I was looking through old files and I think this is what you seek: See attached PDF.
This is the drawing Larry1 made.
You will need to use the Ali editor. Maybe others will chime in, been awhile since I did it.
The cable I have now I have varied slightly from the drawing posted by KE4EST in that instead of using the power from the MicroHD, I used a 9 volt battery connected to a 7805 voltage regulator to provide the 5 volt source for the MAX chip. This eliminated the need for the connection to pin 3 on the MicroHD.Please Help Larry1! or Others

I want to build that cable to fix the boot loop defect.
I have a computer running XP with Rs232 .....and a few MAX232 ? Chips somewhere. ( built a previous CAT cable for my ham rig before)
Does XP have the driver already installed?
I downloaded GhPMSD file etc... Will it prompt me through ordo I have to use the ALI editor? A set by step instruction would entice. Many links on this group show "file not found " so if it's been posted b4 it's likely gone
Email me direct if you can
Tnx es 73
Greg
