I have just had voom installed a week ago. I have having a few problems that I need expert advice with.
I have a 57" Hitachi Ultravision widescreen 57T600 model TV it is less than a year old.
http://www.hitachi.us/tv/browse/projection/16-9digital/57T600.shtml
I can only get 480i none of the other settings work. The TV is capable of 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i.
When I switch to 1080i (yes, I tried the red button)I get a partial picture, mainly with a 3/4 split screen and black bars that run diagnolly, I can see th pretty 1080 picture behind the mess though. It looks like when you had a Nintendo hooked up (back in the old days) on channel 3 instead of 4. The problem isnt that simple with this issue. I do see a similarity with ANT C as it looks like the same messed up format 3/4th of the picture with black bars as mentioned above. There is nothing hooked up to ANT C.
I have already had 3 separate visits from technitians over to look at it and they have no idea (2 Voom techs and 1 TV techs). The Voom tech said it was the TV. The TV Techs said it was the voom reciever.
The receiver has been switched along with the DVI cable to no avail.
We have tried every possible setting in the STB and in the TV.
We have tried switching to component but it still only works with 480i
I would really like to keep voom but it looks like I am going to have to cancel if I cant get a better resolution on my TV than 480i. I have spoken with a Hitachi tech and they place the blame on the STB. No other setting other than 480i works.
Please help me to keep my voom service. I have had several techs from both the TV and Voom service to my home I really need an expert that knows what he is doing. The people that came to my home didnt know anymore than I did. The last bit of advice I got was that my TV was incompatible with the Voom STB. Can anyone help me with this issue?
