Rural does not mean the same thing as it did just a few years ago.Satellite TV is not available in my rural area of Western NC, only streaming.
Well I don't know what's going on, but I just tried a zip in downtown Chicago 60601 & it shows new service being available....while NYC, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, DC, Detroit, Boston, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Cleveland, Hartford and St Louis didn't. The restrictions are DMA wide
It does some weird things if you start changing zip codes. If I enter my home zip code it tells me it is not available. If I then go back and change the zip code to a zip code I know does allow new installs then the ordering process continues. Then if I go back and enter my home zip code again I don't get the popup that new installs are not allowed and allows me to go through the complete ordering process up to actually ordering it though I have to use my neighbors street address in the order form because if I use mine it tells me there is satellite service already at that location.Well I don't know what's going on, but I just tried a zip in downtown Chicago 60601 & it shows new service being available.
Same thing when I did Belleville, IL (St Louis DMA) zip 62222.
Yep. Most folks in my neck of the woods switched to Starlink a few years ago. Then Spectrum Fiber expanded to this area and now even the Starlink dishys are disappearing. I'm one of the few hold outs as I kept my Starlink equipment as a fail over to Spectrum, which experiences frequent outages during storms and high winds.Rural does not mean the same thing as it did just a few years ago.
I have taken that blame for the last few years in the cord cutters section of this site.Nah. Blame Bruce!![]()
