Can I use a Dish 522 for OTA without Dish service?

I was given a Dish 522 today. I have Directv but the receiver doesn't have an OTA tuner so I was wondering if I could use the 522 as a tuner to pull an some local HD channels which are not carried by Directv. Possible at all?

Even if it could those receivers only had an analog tuner built in. The digital transition put an end to that type of tuner.

Yeah the 522 has a passthrough only
If you had a 622 or 722 (or 211) without Dish service the OTA tuner in it wont work
