Calller ID on HD DVR

I really want Caller ID on this unit. It will do almost everything else. Gotta have this!!!

The reason that manufacturers didn't put that feature in DVR's is cause they assumed that no one would want to have the caller ID box popping up while recording something.

Yup, I used to have it on my E*, box but it got old and annoying fast.

Couldn't they set it up so that it displays as an overlay and isn't recorded? For example, if I bring up the Guide or Info while watching a show I'm recording, these boxes would not be recorded.

It seems like this would be a good way to implement it.

They could, but they wont. This feature is available if you want to add it yourself. The folks at Deal Database can help. Just google "hack tivo." Perhaps it will be there with the NDS boxes.
