I turned on tv, DiSH guide says the race starts at 6p??? The race was obviously on at usual time, but the guide calls it "United Football League"...This likely affected DVRs

I'm not sure about your DVR, I just know my 540-01 timers fired on-time.

Looks like a I made the right choice to record the Post-Race as that should have the final laps if the Race Timer didn't catch it.

It shows the race from 6-9 and then local news.

Of course, I can remember when if we wanted to watch the race we had to turn on the radio, and/or see on tv the eve. of the next day.

Congrats to Palou. He is too young to be the best ever, but at his pace, I can't see him in Indycar much longer.
Congrats to Ericsson who lost to the guy having the best year in my lifetime.

A big bertha megaton f-bomb to Fox for really raising the bar on poor production. You guys do NASCAR racing. Yeah, it is only NASCAR, but the formula is about the same. And you had two weeks to work on the scoring system! Come on!
Sounds like Rossi's crew guy is okay, his gloves caught fire. Rossi is climbing out of a burning car, and throws something in disgust... because he didn't get to finish the race. Almost oblivious to the burning car thing.
Hopefully Spence Hall's foot is okay after being hit by Shwartman's car when he wasn't able to stop in the pit.
I'm pretty certain the Andrettis are so used to failures at this track (most of them not of their doing) that just shrug it off and party anyway.
I'm imagining that Sting Ray Robb will be sore as heck in the morning. He wasn't going super fast, but his car came to stop pretty quick after Larson brain-farted with a downshift when cars started bunching up because Hunter-Reay tried to reenact the start of the 1982 Indy 500.

This race was a microcosm of many moments of older Indy 500s but added a special dash on something unique with cars about to be lapped... going too fast to be lapped. Had they not been there Ericsson would be the 2 time Indy 500 champion. But that is Indy... Indy is about talent, luck, circumstance, luck, machine, and luck / circumstance.

The one thing that didn't come to mind during the race was "You know what would make that better? Splitting the race into three parts."
