Anyone with E* in South Carolina

I have a 622 and 1000.2 coming. Wanted to know how the 129 comes in after reading some posts about. Mainly wondering if a second 500 pointed at 61.5 is a good idea or not needed here.

I have done 1000.2 installs about 4 miles form south of the border and they work just fine with a 1000.2. Most installers from lumberton down columbia only use 61.5 if there is a LOS issue for 129

K. I guess if I am not happy with the 129 reception I can add a 300 later with the help of these forums. LOS will not be a problem and I have open sky for about a mile from me.

I'm in Rock Hill, just across the NC/SC border from Charlotte. I personally have a second dish @ 61.5, but my brother has a 1000+ for 129 and so far as I know, he hasnt had any problems, and had good signal strength from 129.

In this area you have to have 129 if you want Charlotte HD locals. I get all of Charlotte via OTA, so I never bothered adding 129.

Hopefully I wont need the second then. I guess if it comes down to it though its a fairly easy setup to add a 300 for 61.5.

Yeah but he's really close to his OTA towers for Augusta. With a small antenna, he will get all his HD and with a larger antenna, He'll get Columbia also.

Im about 30 miles out from downtown Charleston and get them all well with an attic antenna. Just would't mind em coming through the dish if E* ever will start adding some more locals.

I live in upstate SC and my setup is now a 1000.2 & 61.5, it takes the HD from 129 (but I would rather it be from 61.5) and I haven't had a problem with the dish yet, my old Dish 1000 wasn't good at all.

Ive got 80 on 129, 80's-90's on 110 and low 100s on 119

With a 1000 in upstate SC, last year I got strong signals on 119 and 110 but fairly weak on 129 (much lower signal numbers and they tended to break up in any kind of rain), and the installers spent a lot of time trying to improve it. Now that the Greenville, etc. locals are all on 119, I no longer need 129.

I am in Greenville with a 1000 and I have no signal problems. if there is horrible weather i might lose signal for 5 minutes, but that has been very rare.

I live in Elgin, about 15 miles east of Columbia. Got my Dish just yesterday. Installers had tough time with 129 because of bad 1000.2 dish. It was warped. So they put up 2 500 dishes. I get 110 and 119 with average signal strength of 85. 61.5 signal strength on average is around 80. By the way, installers got here at 9 am. They left at 1:45. They took thier time and did the job correctly. Cudo's to them.
