Any comitment to keep metal package?

I understand a metal package is required to do a lease upgrade to a 622. We mostly watch OTA HD and would like to record HD. How long is the comittment if any? Can I just downgrade the day after installation and pay the monthly $6 HD enabling fee?

the whole time you lease the receiver you must keep at least HD Bronze

On a leased HD receiver you must sub to the HD (metal) programing package for as long as you lease the receiver.

It should be noted that you also agree to a 18 month commitment to the leased receiver and a metallic package. Such that, even if you attempt to return the receiver after 4 months, you would be hit with a fee, which is usually around $13-$15 per each remaining month, which would be $182-$210 in this example.

So if you don't want a metallic pack, then don't enter into a lease.
