As long as there were no braces put in between the studs then it should be nothing more than a 20ft drop down a 16 inch wide cavity wich isnt any harder than doing it on a 7 foot cavity. Did you take any pics as the house was being built or did you go in during its build?

There should be blocking in a 20' tall wood stud wall. There is probably a plate breaking the span as well.... I doubt the builder sprang for 20' lumber
