NOooooooooooooooooooooooooo! The question I have is, should I ask them for discounts or promos I can take advantage of
your a new customer under a new two year contract no discounts for you other than new customer deals you were offered![]()
Try saying that out loud 5 times. A real tongue twister,... I got a Genie 2, with 3 Geminis, and one wired Genie mini ...
With my C61K and Gemini I can watch or record 2 4K shows at a time on those two receivers from my HR54.a 1 TB HDD only being able to record 5 shows at once and stream one 4K show at once and not two 4k shows. a downgrade will extend your contract if they will let you do it i doubt they will..
But with two c61k mini's you can only stream one 4k streamWith my C61K and Gemini I can watch or record 2 4K shows at a time on those two receivers from my HR54.
I don't really know since I have never had 2 C61K's. Why would it make a difference on the number of 4K you can watch? But with two c61k mini's you can only stream one 4k stream
Maybe the processing ability of the HR54.I don't really know since I have never had 2 C61K's. Why would it make a difference on the number of 4K you can watch?
from what i always have read was the HR-54 could only do one 4k streamMaybe the processing ability of the HR54.
I can watch 2 different 4K channels on my C61K and Gemini at the same time. They are both clients of the HR54. Why would the HR54 be able to send two 4K channels to the C61K and Gemini but not to two C61K's?Maybe the processing ability of the HR54.
Yes that is what DIRECTV claims but my HR54, server for my C61K and Gemini, is doing 4K to each client at the same time.from what i always have read was the HR-54 could only do one 4k stream
My billing and online account has been with AT&T for several years. I had no other business with AT&T except DIRECTV. This month, for the first time, AT&T is gone from my bill and account. can manage my account online at DIRECTV.com, without a whiff of AT&T. It's great. It will be interesting to see who sends the bill AT&T or Directv.
Some of those limitations were put in place when they thought 4K was going to use transponder bonding, using two tuners to receive one 4K signal. All 4K channels now can be tuned with one transponder. (two 4K channels per transponder).from what i always have read was the HR-54 could only do one 4k stream
we still get our bill from ATT and it's a complete disater. promo's have fallen off changes to the acct have been made without us knowing anything about it. can't wait to get the hell off ATT. to many system glitches!!! though there wirless side has been flawless. My billing and online account has been with AT&T for several years. you could actually be able to get some older receivers, gibe them a call and ask to switch to an hr54 as you are "not satisfied with the hs17 and you want a hr54" and insist on it, and while at it if you want you can ask for an h24/h25 and or a hr24 so you can get a receiver thats not dependant on the main genie, this is what i did 4 years prior to cancelling and switching to dish and it worked, sure i had to call a couple of times but it workedThat.... sucks.
You have a genie 2. In order to use the older hardware you will need to open a second dtv acct or shut one acct off and start the other one up with the older boxes. Will they let you activate older boxes my guess would be a big fat no!!! I don't even want to think what a nightmare that would be.By which I mean, the PQ i get from DirecTV looks good; however, I would like to use older equipment since I'm fascinated by older technology.
We were just told there not giving out the hr 54 anymore it's just for subs that have em and need replacement units. You can't even pick out the clients you want anymore either.you could actually be able to get some older receivers, gibe them a call and ask to switch to an hr54 as you are "not satisfied with the hs17 and you want a hr54" and insist on it, and while at it if you want you can ask for an h24/h25 and or a hr24 so you can get a receiver thats not dependant on the main genie, this is what i did 4 years prior to cancelling and switching to dish and it worked, sure i had to call a couple of times but it worked
I know that anytime a new pice of hardware is introduced into the system it's a new 2 year contract even if it's a downgrade. There not giving the hr-54 any longer it's only for subs needing replacement. There only offering the genie 2 nowDo you already own older receivers that your account at one time had them activated on? If yes...maybe. If not...you probably can't get the older receivers from DIRECTV and not sure you could gets ones from a 3rd party activated. I don't know of a specific policy DIRECTV has about downgrading equipment.
