History channel running lots of D* commercials about signing up now and the rate is guaranteed until 2010. What's up with that? Any rate increase rumors out there?

DirectTv, and Dish for that matter, always announce price increases in Feb/Mar for the year.

There is almost an increase every spring, not always, but usually. Typically $3 or so.

They are just giving the new subscribers a set price for 2009, meaning they won't have next year's increase until 2010. No big thing really.
