so you just buy a tuner..OTA is fading away as more frequencies are stolen
that's not the problem..the FCC is auctioning off the frequencies being used for OTA( for 5G cellular networks)...I remember when that percentage was 100%OTA is not fading away. I made a post a month or so ago referencing an article stating that upwards of 18% of households are using it now and that number is growing as younger people move away from traditional pay TV models..

the more they auction..the more they fade away..its just a matter of time before that are allgoneAuctioning some of the frequencies. Most people will just have to do a re-scan on their tuner. I don't think the average person will notice or care much.

I lost OTA when the twin towers fell 17 years ago..Come on, man! Think positive!![]()

I was thinking the same thing.I didn't realize that the broadcast from the Towers reached Moscow, Russia.![]()
So how many broadcasters have stopped broadcasting? Parts of the spectrum are gone, but the locals have just moved to other frequencies.the more they auction..the more they fade away..its just a matter of time before that are allgone
Actually the spectrum isn't gone yet and the new channel lineup will not be made public for a month or two. That said, there will be some channels that will cease to exist and others will piggyback onto other channel bandwidth....So how many broadcasters have stopped broadcasting? Absolutely there will be ATSC 3.0 adapters for existing tuners just as before. My new Vizio P75-C1 is called a display instead of a TV because it has no OTA tuner at all. Now that is thinking ahead. Of course I have my H3 with OTA adapter so I am able to watch OTA channels anyway. When ATSC 3.0 comes about I'm sure there will be the same kind of adapter to receive it both for my H3 and all TVs as well....
That number is not growing as younger people move away from pay TV models, they aren't embracing OTA, they are embracing streaming.OTA is not fading away.
