Sony Fixed the 1080i Problem????

Reports from Playstation.com are stating that the new firmware release after midnight tonight 11-5, have fixed the 1080i issues. Sony has not confirmed this, but there may be hope after all. Kudos to Sony if they got this right.

I just heard that today, unbelievable that they would put out a product like this.

why? look at the directv Hr20, it is missing key features that can be done via a software/firmware update, the 360 didnt have all of its features and had to add some via a software/firmware update, why cant sony do the same thing?

The upconvert to 1080i on the 360 was there from day one. I didn't say that they couldn't add features by doing this. I was just saying that things that were out for a while should have already been there. The 1080p stuff was just starting when the 360 came out so they had to program for it and then put it in later.

ahh its still a new console, I think sony has a ways to go with it, while yes it should have been there, the fact that it wasnt dosent bother me, now if I get this thing and they say it cant be done, look for one ex ps3 owner, and one ps3 on ebay.
