SAN JOSE, Calif.—A federal-court jury found Samsung Electronics Co. 005930.SE +0.22% infringed on some of Apple Inc. AAPL +0.19% 's smartphone patents and ordered the Korean company to pay $119.6 million to its U.S. rival.
The jury said some Samsung phones infringe two Apple patents, but do not infringe two others.The jury of eight men and women including a former school teacher, an executive assistant and a former manager for International Business Machines Corp. IBM -1.08% deliberated for three days.
In this latest round of Apple and Samsung's long-running patent feud, the iPhone maker accused the Korean electronics giant of infringing five of its software patents. It is seeking $2.2 billion in damages. Samsung countersued Apple for copying two of its patents and is seeking $7 million. Apple has said Samsung has artificially low-balled its damages request to devalue patents.
Google has already said it will pay Samsung's lawyer bill and fine.
I wonder if that means our earnings from Adsense will drop even more.
