Problem with your quote Dish has SDTV on half the TVs (using second tuner), DIRECTV has HD. At best Dish is $7 for a 211 or $10 for a 612 to compete with HD DVRs by DIRECTV.

That is why you can compare all setups, including have 2 separate HD DVRs on two separate TVs with both providers
