JFK made a speech in Berlin at the time of the crisis and said something similar to your "location" comment: Ich bin ein Berliner. It is sometimes reported in the States that although he was trying to say "I am a Berliner" he used words that referred to a jelly donut, so it came out as "I am a jelly donut."

Is this not correct?

This are Berliners:

But "Berliner" we don't say in Berlin. We say "Pfannkuchen" for it

have you seen the Simpsons when Grandpa was in the army on a submarine and JFK also was on that ship and had probed for his speech in Berlin?
JFK had said "Ich bin ein Berliner" and Grandpa cried "A GERMAN!!!".
