Fox upping their local tv station fees soon?

I am seeing persistent rumors on the internet about Fox wanting to increase their local affiliate tramsmission fees to cable and satellite providers. Has anyone heard about this?

Probably true. My local fox news in Birmingham AL just went HD! I guess fox has to pay for the new HD studios and HD weather equipment, LOL!

Yes, you are correct. News Corporation sold WBRC to Local TV LLC who swapped WBRC to Raycom for WTVR in Richmond. Raycom being an Alabama based company has always wanted a station in Birmingham.

Every channel wants to increase their rates. They all do, it is just a way to make more money. This would be one area perhaps that congress should set retransmission rates. I would not want the problem of negotiating with 1500 channels.
