DiSEqc 1.0 vs. 2.0 what's the difference

I had a pansat switch 1.0 that didn't work when I hook it up with 3 LNBs. I got a LavaSat 2.0 and it works fine. the pansat probably was a bad switch. can anyone explain the difference between 1.0 and 2.0? My receiver is a pansat 2700A. thanks

Are you using a Dishnetwork dish 500 with that switch?

No, just three separate dishes: two circular and one linear LNBs.
