Can you trunk at dpp44 of a dp34?

I know you can trunk a DP34 off a DPP44 but I'm not sure if the other way around will work. Why the DP34 first? I would use the DPP44 first since it has the power inserter and then trunk the DP34 off the DPP44.

The 34 is not mine...its the units next door...I figured if I install my own switch I can use their dish and my own account.

Is this why the stupid audit team exist?

Technically speaking each residence is supposed to have their own dish.

Here's a "what if". What if your neighbor up and moves and decides, for whatever reason, to take his dish and/or switch? Or better yet, what if he's LEASING the equipment and Dish tells him he not only needs to return the receiver(s) but his LNBs and switch as well?????

I'm not saying I agree 100%, but we can play what-if's all day long, but since Paradox isn't sharing the rest of the story, I would assume they would know what he is doing and agree to it. Therefore they would tell him before they up and move.

Then again, he could just be trying to hookup and hope no one notices and open his own account, then the neighbors might up and move out one day and leave him hanging. Until he posts more info, the what if's are pretty much endless.

i did an install in a mulit dwelling unit and i called dish and explained that the owner would only allow 1 dish on their unit and asked if i could tie in to a neighbros system and they told me that if the neighbro was ok with it then yes. so they tied the accounts together with in the notes only that way if there was a prob it was in the notes.

I am in a cottege/duplex and the dishes and 34 switch is owned by the owner of the building. They were here when we move in and are not going anywhere.

Why should I put up another set of dishes when those are already up there? I am not stealing anything from anyone. When my neighbor moves he will take nothing as they are not his either.

He is using 3 line of the 34 and I have one line left to use to my unit. I need two or a DPP44 to run a dual tuner box.

Nothing to criminal I dont think and I cant see why E* would care. We are NOT account sharing just dish sharing.

Is this so wrong?

Nothing wrong with that. I certainly wasn't trying to imply anything illegal. Like Cleve was saying, there is bound to be a rare instance here or there that would necessitate one dish...multiple accounts. The question I was asking was "how it occured?"

A quick look at flea-bay should net you some decent prices on a DPP44 switch. $60 perhaps

Webby are u a tech?...... i would go for it not really sure it putting a dpp44 behind a dp34 will work or not

For a while, I had my DPP44 trunked off my DP34, it worked just fine.

I have friends with a home up the river. They had NO line of site from their property at all:(

Their neighbor got E and when it was being installed my friends spoke with the installer. He ran cables to both homes from the one dish, and was happy to get a second account and sale $$$$.

The neighbors are friends and its worked out fine.

noo account stacking involved..

why not just get a second dp 3 to 4 switch its cheaper too

"why not just get a second dp 3 to 4 switch its cheaper too"

He probably wants a single run to his dual tuner receiver. A second DP34 will work like Bob said but you'll need that second cable run to the dual tuner.

And it may actually be a less expensive install - depending ...

Webby,

That is NOT true, there are MANY apartment complex's that have ONE Dish for a Building. I own a Double, both Me and my tennant gets service from my ONE DISH. When my tennant got DISH I told the tech that I didn't want another Dish on my Home. This was NOT a problem, all that was needed was an additional switch to provide more outputs.

The Dish is an ANTENNA that is all, the satellite signal is encrypted so without a STB that signal is unless.

Now, if you were using multiple receivers on ONE account to multiple residences, then YES you are stealing.

If that neighbor leaves or whatever then its upto the other subscriber to continue paying his bill and pony up some money to mount his own DISH, do you really Think DISH cares if that subscriber is watching the programing, as long as his payment arrives every month DISH doesn't care if he is watching, and can or can NOT receive a satellite signal.

622 install happening today.

Does a 3700 not work with DP lnb's?
