when Equity was around, I had a Primestar dish mounted to a setup that sat in the bed of the truck made with 2x4's and plywood

I did one worse...unfortunately no pictures. I was installing at a slum lord's row of apartments and he didn't want anything mounted to the roof. This was something I was not informed of when I got the call to do the install. Only thing around was a large piece of firewood. I screwed it to that and set it out in the front yard.
I also used to do some pretty wild temporary mounts for our hunting camp too.
