when is the contract up with between al jazeera america and directv ? I would love to see this channel added to the select package on directv because it is the only channel I am missing on dish network which I paid 5 dollars extra for.

Select doesn't carry many channels, so I doubt you will see a niche channel like al jazeera america there anytime soon.

Al Jazeera America is paying DirecTV and other providers to carry them. The Blaze wants too much for carriage. If you want The Blaze, get a Roku Streaming stick and use that if your Internet speed is fast enough.

Al Jazeera may not make it through the year they way their finances are going. No viewers = no sponsors/ads = no more network.
