The other day when I tried to turn on my VIP622, I noticed it was locked up and would not respond. So I held down the power button for a reset. When it came back to life, all my recorded programs on my DVR were gone! Anyone else have this happen? Is there any hope to retrieve them?

Yup, happened to me with my previous model, twice, replaced after second time. No problem with 622. Sorry, I remember how pissed I was. They gave me one months DVR credit. Yippee!
My hard drive failed once. Lost all recording plus had to get Dish to send me a new receiver. Losing your recordings sucks but at least the unit still works. This is the new word I learned after my failure. "Backup"
