Do the 211's have to have the purple smart card, or did they manufacture ones with the card built it? I have one which has the smart card, but it is 2 yeas old. I find ones for sale that say new in box, with no mention of the smart card.

Go to Menu 6-1-3 or sys. info if your smart card starts Soo you have old card if it starts S19 you have the purple card.

No i am not trying to figure out mine, I am looking to purchace a new one and was wondering if they are built in new.

The 211 has been in production long enough to have both card chips on the circuit board get the S# from the seller.
