Currently I have my 722K dish inputs off of 2 different dishes, 1000.2s. I am think of installing a 1000.4 for my primary dish input.
Can I have the 1000.4 eastern Arc on 1 input of my 722K and the 1000.2 western arc on the 2nd dish input?

I'm using 2 arcs but not like you have configured. I have 61.5, 110, 118.7, 119, and 129. They are going thru 2 DP-21 switches and 1 DPP-44. I have 4 large dishes for picking up the birds. I'm not sure why you would want to use a 1000.2 & .4 and not even sure the receiver could do what you want. It would be seeing 2 entirely different setups. So I would think the only way to know if it would work would be to try it and see. If you decide to do it let us know how it turns out.

I will echo, what outcome are you looking for? I have two dishes, one for 61.5/72 one for 119/118(Or alternatively 110) through a DP44 that way the receiver sees all sats.

I was looking to get my locals via Dish rather than an external TV antenna. The reason behind this is that 1 local, the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia, went back to their VHF frequency assignment after the conversion to all DTV several years ago. During the transition they were on their UHF assignment and put up a nice sized UHF only antenna for local HD. Now I "so so" coverage on them and the remaining locals on UHF. The big problem being looking right thru our local hospital towards the locals transmitting site on the west side of Philly.

Also When I had originally set up on Dish I had the DISH 500 on 110 and 119. I had added a Dish 300 dish when the eastern arc HDs moved to 61.5. I had to re-cable my system about 5 years ago so I took the 1 dish down for 61.5 and went strictly for the western arc satellites, 110, 119 and 129. If I'm correct the only thing of benefit to me on 129 would be the west coast locals which I wouldn't get anyway due to my location. Also at the time 61.5 was the old satellite and about 1 or 2 years later it was replaced. At that time I had very poor signal strength from that satellite. I have a clear view of the eastern arc satellites. I also have clear view of the western arc satellites. Since I was familiar with 110 and 119 I decided to stay there and move away from the eastern arc.

My TV signal's big problem is not so much signal strength but multi-path. When the TV stations were analogue I would see the fade but now with DTV I loose the signal and my chief accountant, my wife, doesn't like the "breakups".

About 2 - 3 years ago I added a second western arc dish about 25' up my tower. Thats where the second satellite feed is coming from for my 722K. I also feed a 211K in another room from that dish. I also feed a 2nd 211K from my primary dish which is the 1 I am thinking of replacing with the eastern arc 1000.4 dish I have in storage.

So the main objective is to get rid on my OTA local antenna and to gain better local TV reception.

It sounds to me you are making it much too hard. If your locals are on the Eastern Arc, just use the EA. If you have a clear view, any low signal would be because of a problem on your end that can be fixed. Also if you are comparing the signal strength to the WA, don't, they are not comparable. If you mean a low signal to where you lost the channel, that won't happen with a correct install, but if you mean there was simply a low signal, that very possibly was the correct signal.

I concur. You just need 1 properly installed dish. 129 isn't just west coast locals either. A lot of the hd programming is there.

Running one cable from 2 separate dishes to a 722 just doesn't make a lot if sense. Never thought about trying it but it seems like it would create some problems.

I'm just wondering if having 2 seperate arcs not fed thru a switch would "confuse" the reciever.

If you do attempt it let us know how it goes. I am very interested.
