Hi all. Two times I have purchased a movie from DirecTV on Demand and both times the movie would not display captioning when I enabled it on my DTV box. I tried to enable the CC on my TV and it would not work either. Both times I DVR'd the movie Anybody know why this is?

Can anybody tell me what the differences are between the new black HD-DVR receiver DirecTV now has on their website witht he one they were selling last year (HD-DVR 20 or something?) I would like to determine if its worth upgrading. Thanks

I have the HR20 and the cat5 did not fit, the ports were too small, there are two plastic cases sticking out of the ports, i tried to pull them out but they wouldnt come out so I tried to stick the cables in them and it wouldnt happen.

So I need to order a cat6 cable?

I have the HD-DVR box and I wanted to set it up for On Demand, I attempted to connect a CAT5 cable from my router into the ethernet ports on the back of the box but the ports were too small for the cable. Not sure why that is....

Msg-hd? I've had MSG-HD on my DTV the last two nights, got both the Knicks and noticed the ranger game on in HD the last two nights. Is this temporary or was there an agreement i didnt hear about? That would be awesome.

Is this a common issue with this receiver? You press a button to input a channel and each number just lags on the screen. After you put on the complete channel number it takes maybe 3 seconds for the channel to appear on the screen. Anybody else have this problem? It really annoys me.

Yea i think HDMI is a bit crisper.

If your TV supports HDMI 1.3 and you're interested in HDMI 1.3 cables then search on monoprice for item 3662. Thats what I have. If you need 15 feet cables then search for 3663.

There really is no difference between HDMI and Component, if you look hard enough maybe HDMI is a bit crisper but nothing significant. This surprised me as prior to getting an HD everybody told me HDMI was far better, but it really isnt. I do think the audio is better via HDMI though. My HR20...

I put native back on and my TV is picking up the box, im noticing a few drops here and there but the signal eventually reappears, ill see how it goes. Is native ON that important? What exactly does it do? Thanks for all the help guys.

The problem is my TV sometimes does not recognize my HR20 box VIA HDMI if the native is ON. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. The DirecTV tech admitted to me that their HR20 boxes have some compatability issues with some HDTVs VIA hdmi and that I am best to leave native off.
