    DISH Networks VOD 1080P

The vod movies are downloaded to a DVR hard drive. This saves satellite bandwidth as it is downloaded to the receivers late at night and doesn't require a channel to make it happen. Model 612 receivers are next in line to get software upgrades followed by the 622s but no date announced yet.

DISH -VS- VOOM - A Settlement has been reached!

Voom did not belong in the Essentials package which is the real point of this battle. Any price increases go towards paying any increases of all programmer's charges not only Voom. So no the $3 additional surely would not cover that.

DISH -VS- VOOM - A Settlement has been reached!

It's interesting how Voom states that dishHD essential is the most widely distributed package since everyone who had dishHd prior to the new packages was converted to dishHD Ultimate unless they downgraded. I don't see the courts giving this win to Voom. Voom's appeal was dropping rapidly and...

LNBF drift wouldn't be an issue till it reaches +/- 8.

    Help for a novice

    3ABN would require a dish at 61.5 or 129. A Dish 1000 or 1000.2 would work for 119, 110 and 129.

Convert lnb to rec/send uhf radio?

The LNBF will not work. They are not designed for 440. If you do find a way to use the dish it will have a very narrow directional pattern. There are hams that use old Primestar dishes for the gigahertz bands but I have never seen one at UHF.

Need advice on getting a new leased receiver

Limit is 4 leased on an account. The system won't let you do dish in it up if there are already four tuners on an account. If you call ask for the executive resolutions team.

Pole mount 1000.2 with trench questions

You may want to run a short ground wire from the dish to a grounding rod at the dish. The shorter the distance lightning and static build up have to go the better.

TV fried by DVR component out?

Should i just buy second vip211?

Yea, the 211 would cost you $299 direct. Go with the lease and keep DHPP on the account. If there was not a $100 rebate I might reconsider but this is the cheapest and easiest way to get what you need. BTW...if you move...the DHPP includes one free Dish Mover per 12 month period so you can take...

Should i just buy second vip211?

Receivers have a one year warranty. After that no warranty unless you have DHPP Dish Home Protection Plan. Leased means "given to you to use to get the service" not if anything goes wrong they will replace it.

    Local Channels

Yes you can still get them, if you pay annually they would be $5.99 per month. You could multiply that by 12 or the remaining months in your annual plan and pay that which would be a credit on your account. If something else was billed on your account however that charge would be deducted from...

Is dish responsible for leased equipment?

Receivers have a 1 year warranty. Instead of you having to pay several hundred dollars for it to begin with, they lease it to you (allow you to use it). After the warranty period if you do not have the Dish Home Protection Plan or other similar warranty on the account, the option is an Out Of...

    Upgrading rx/Returning Old Equipment?

FYI...This just announced,,,,soon customers will not have to send back leased receivers when you do a DIU. The techs will be taking them. I can't remember when this starts but it is soon. All that you have to return when you do a DIU is the leased receiver.

15 simple rules to make an install go smooth

When I had my install, it was really fun cause I work for Dish. The installer showed up, I told him go put up the dish and I'll get busy on hooking up the receivers. He gave me a funny look. I had to tell him I was in Tech Support. We were finished in about two hours, I gave him a glass of water...

When Should I Expect My Box?

Usually 7-10 biz days after install. Once a leased rcvr is deactivated on an account the system flags to send boxes.

How to setup remote control to control my receiver?

First thing to do is press system info button on the reciever. That will put sys info on the screen. Then hold down the SAT button until the other lights on the top of remote come on. Let go and SAT should be flashing. Next enter a number between 1-15, I usually use 5 for tv1 and 12 for tv2...
