S418 software for the Original Hopper

    Thank you. I'll look!

S418 software for the Original Hopper

Very bad idea, I hate it. This was the first thing I noticed. When it's bed time, I turn off tv and continue watching in bedroom on joey. Now it doesn't work. Can't "join" hopper from bedroom. :( Not only that, by turning off hopper it loses the ability to rewind and pick up what I...

    Pause Unpause skipping ahead

If it helps anyone. The nodes seem problematic. Of course it could still be hopper. I changed nodes and the next few days Joey was 10 times better. Actually tolerable. I then needed a good single node for another job and put a dual node on. Now the old issues are gone but every 15...

    Pause Unpause skipping ahead

Finally found this thread. My joeys are worthless dvr wise. Never know where rw or ff will get you. Skip not much better. Scale is delayed and worthless. Try it on audio channels. Doesn't work at all. Slow forward from pause and it just sits for a minute, then jumps ahead. Certain...

    Dish retailier site DOWN??

Can't get in. Yesterday or today.

Thinking about DISH? I'd Think again.

And there's the problem. Local retailer would not lie. They are subject to charge back. Plus you know where they live. Order from an 800 number at your peril!

    Hopper/Joey (Coax Cable Lengths)

Would only make sense that you could go another 50' over a run with 2way splitter. Or 100' over a run with 3way. And 200' more than a run with 3way and rg-59. However the 200' given may be for a single run of RG-6 with no splitter. :(

Sorry I was misinformed. :) Quote: Originally Posted by inwo View Post That makes sense. How will the 2nd hopper share? All j's can see both hoppers? Hoppers see each other? "Yes seamless integration." __________________ Scott

They will see each other unless isolated.

Cajun Pawn Stars Premieres on the History Channel Tonight

Of course I agree. Was just trying to point out the strangeness. The info had the #10 and #11 info which can't be found anywhere now. So Dish didn't just pull it out of the air. Was thinking maybe cajun series got canceled last minute. Your record list sounds like mine. :)

Dishes we have seen -- post yours!

Only had to look out my garage door. Notice the H-H drive. Commercial system for up to 15' dish. Sold only about 3 total back in the day with CM 10' SMC dish. Top of the line +++.

Cajun Pawn Stars Premieres on the History Channel Tonight

It was more than the guide. It had the cajun "info" also. Deleted it now. Twice. But I think it recorded it in the "cajun" list. Glad someone else noticed. :)

Cajun Pawn Stars Premieres on the History Channel Tonight

What happened to #10 and #11? They were set to record on DISH dvr. Info screen was correct. Recorded pawn stars instead. Reset to record later. Same thing?

    Wattage calculation

Exactly, No way he will overload. If you run a system loud enough to blow a 15 the windows will crack! :D
  15. I

    Wattage calculation

Sure, an ammeter. The breaker responds to amps so that's what you need to know. 12 amps on a 15 amp circuit or 16 max on a 20. A "kill a watt" is what you need if you are interested in this sort of thing. Reads watts or volt amps.

What type of LNB is this?

The posted link to quad is very suspicious. The picture looks altered. Showing "plus" From desc. it's a legacy. As in post two. Won't work with DPP 44 or separators.
  17. I

What type of LNB is this?

At least 3 kinds of twin. Legacy, DP, and DPP. DP and DPP can feed DPP-44 switch. Only DPP can feed separator

    Hopper Diplexer Question

I'm betting yes. I misunderstood. Seems as though it would work as a tap, as shown in the diagrams.
  19. I

i am having the reed count on the actuator changing from day to day.

Mis-counting is common problem. Can you post a picture of your reed/hall/optic switch? Spacing from magnet can be critical. (bounce) Sometimes the angle. Turn barrel 1/4 turn or reverse a plug-in type. Often just poor design or weak magnets. Counts per second are more important than...

    Hopper Diplexer Question

The better question might be, will a good diplexer work as a tap? And pass to 3000mhz?
  21. I

    Hopper Diplexer Question

If I understand correctly. My guess is no. The uhf freq will be greatly attenuated on the sat port. That's the job of a diplexer. Uhf will be down over 24db on sat port. Is that your intention? Passing MoCA (650-875 MHz) thru sat port?

    Birdview H-H mover manual/parts listing

Reed kits are easy to make/adapt from others. I made my own from something. Don't remember what model. It was a multipolled magnet wheel. An angle bracket under a motor mount bolt. And a reed or hall switch. If I found my reed box I bet I have a few.

    LNB V/H Voltage

If you have access to a "power passive one leg only" splitter you can power both receivers at the same time, powered from one receiver. edit. Looks like you've done that. :(
  24. I

    LNB V/H Voltage

I know what you're saying. But if the power supply can't supply the current, the voltage will drop accordingly. (under load) And lnb only needs maybe 8 volts. 12 at most to work. It is internally regulated at 5 volts often. It does need more on one polarity to switch however.
  25. I

    LNB V/H Voltage

That's what I'm saying! The circuit supplying the lnb is more than a voltage regulator. It will also be current limited. And have a 14/18 volt switch. The 1.5 volt drop is normal under load.
