One of many times. The released the 500 before the twin was out, released the 322 before DPP was out which required two runs of coax to each receiver.

I hated installing this monstrosity, that LNB setup was a joke and the thing was so big it needed support struts. Then there was all the wiring to the switch...

iirc you can't have a switch down line from any twin. It's been a while, I installed thousands of these back in the day but that was over 20 years ago! Took the first 501 that came in home with me, think it as April 2001. Loved that receiver.

You need to get rid of that splitter.

A DP twin should only do 2 steps, you have a bad tuner in the 510, a bad DP twin or bad connection.

When you run the check switch, how many steps does it go through?

Locals for my area launched on 61.5 and moved to 110 with the launch of the 500. I remember going back to repoint all the 61.5 dishes to 110 in the summer of 2000.

1998 seems early for the 500, not doubting you. Going off memory, the first 500 I remember was in 2000. The twin wasn't ready yet so it shipped with two dual LNBs and two SW21s. Hooked it up to a 3700/2700.
