I'm feeling bummed like all of you, and wondering if there is a good comparison already developed on current options for programming and equipment with Dish vs. Directv vs. Cable. Also, I was a Dish subscriber for about 4 years...and just turned it off last fall. Will there be any deals...

I don't subscribe to VaVa Voom, but I've been getting 261 and 262 (the two Starz HD channels) for weeks, maybe months. Today they've been turned off and now require VaVaVoom. Anyone else have the same situation? I wonder why they have been on? And why they were today turned off?

DVI connection Samsung HLN567w DLP 720p I keep Voom set at 1080i, except when watching local OTA Fox station when I have to switch to 720p, strangely, or it flashes.

I got rid of my RM-AV3100 for the Harmony 659, and LOVE the Harmony! My biggest issue with the Sony was it was very confusing to program. If I added a new piece of equipment, I had to get out the less-than-adequate manual and spend a long time programming. Also, can't find buttons on the Sony...

Get this -- when a call comes in, I get a Caller ID reading for the person that called 9 calls ago! It's consistent...every time the phone rings, I see on the screen who called 9x ago. Amazing. Hopefully they are working on it.

This has also happened to me twice since the update. I have to do a soft reboot, and it takes about 20 or 30 minutes for the program guide to update again.

I agree with you...for me. However, with my wife and 4 kids (ages 3 to 11), there viewing habits are more based on content than quality. Being able to watch Gilligan's Island when they get home from school every day, even in crappy SD, is pretty important to them. Actually, most of this dilemma...

My setup: Samsung HLN567w Voom into DVI Voom also into Replay TV for recording I also have the Voom receiver set to 1080, as I didn't have any success with it set to 720p. It is a beautiful picture -- stunning actually. Tim

About 1 week ago my Voom (DVI) started blacking out on occasion, maybe 2 or 3x each hour. Since last night, it started doing it every 2 seconds (literally). Just got off the phone with VOOM. They had me do a hard reset (unplugging power cord), and it seems to have worked. BTW, my system settings show the new software (5.5c). Signal quality on satellite around 95 and OTA around 79.

Sean - I'm curious, since I also had Adant install mine -- is your installer's name David? He did pretty good with my install.

My installer said not to "power down" at night but to keep the unit in "standby" so that it could do it's downloads. He said, "If the green icon light is on, it is in standby." I can't find anything that says how to put it into standby mode. Anyone know?

I have found the same thing tonight. The 1080i works best. My 567w goes a little wacky through DVI when I switch VOOM's output. So, I have to switch away from the DVI input and then back to get it to reset. Tim

Wait...the system locked. So I held the power button for a few seconds until it went off. When it came back on, the locals now show up in the program guide. However, the entire program guide is still empty. Any way to force it to fill up?
