Well get ready for Orin Hatch to be your next President. If Bush wins in Nov. then Hatch will be running in 2008. And if Bush wins, then so will Hatch.
Man, I just have to say this new Cinema 10 channel lineup is awesome. They must have really listened to their customers (unlike George Lucas). I'll wait to see what their deal is like when the DVR comes out and the probably re-subscribe to VOOM.
Uninstall, what will they take?
I'm getting VOOM uninstalled in about 30 min. What will the installers want to take? Just the STB, remote, dish, and OTA antenna? Or will they also want all the cables and dish/antenna mounts?
Nothing in Salt Lake City, UT. I can't believe this. I didn't know it would only be available in a few select cities. And I was going to keep VOOM at least until the Olympics were over too. So much for that.
Well, here's my opinion. I had both hooked up to a 56" DLP vizio TV using componant. I compared shows on TDCHD and ESPNHD. It was VERY close, but I give the SLIGHT edge to D* and the HDTivo.
IMO, You are crazy Dvlos if you think HD LOTR is a better movie than OAR LOTR. And if people think they are being cheated because they're new HDTV isn't filled up, than these people need to be educated, not bowed to because of their ignorance.
No, I don't like it AT ALL! It makes it very difficult to read the text. I say either leave the entire thing opaque, or take away the black background and keep the guide graphics opaque.
Yeah, I can't wait to hear how many times the words 'Freedom' and 'terrorists' are said at the Republican convention. And how many new words are made up by Bush. And Cheney telling everyone to '$%^# Off', and then all of them praying to their god together.
Well I've noticed something like this on a NBC OTA channel in Salt Lake City. All HD content is fine, but with anything else, they zoom in to make it look widescreen, so commercials, Conan O'Brian, etc have the top and bottom cropped off.
Holy cow, those plasma shots look amazing. Does Plasma have the same poor black level performance like LCD and DLP do? Because those black levels, color, and contrast are great!
Oh, well I ask because for instance with Dish, if you have had Dish before, there is like a $25 re-subscription fee and you don't get any of the hardware discounts they give for 'new' subscribers.
I've looked all over VOOMs website, but can't find any info. I'd like to cancel VOOM until they get a DVR and get some OAR content.
Doesn't anyone know if there is a re-subscription fee? And if so, how much?
Thanks.
I guess you didn't read the "Don't take off work for your VOOM install" FAQ? :) Well, I've suggested there be one posted here for sometime now.
Anyway, at least you got $25. I took 2 days off of work and didn't get crap offered to me by VOOM for the mess up.
I'm currently also comparing V* and D* side-by-side. Right now I give all movies on HDNET a 10 for the simple fact that they are OAR! I give any non-OAR V* movie a 1.
I'd take DVD OAR over HD chop-shop anyday.
P.S. I've compared DCHD side-by-side and would give the slight edge in PQ to D*...
Prestigious? Since when did the meaning of 'prestigious' become "Someone who gives glowing reviews to the highest bidder"?
CNET is about as corrupt as they come.
Is grounding made to help the dish not get struck in the first place? Or is it for if it does get struck? Anyway, from what I've heard, a lighting strike anywhere near your house, even if it hits something that's grounded, will take out all kinds of electrical equipment.
LOL, I got VOOM for other reasons, all of which I have not been happy with. So why would I want to cancel and then pay a fee to re-subscribe if an awesome/cheap DVR is released by VOOM?
Yeah, this non-OAR stuff is really making me jaded about HDTV and movies. I'm pretty close to cancelling TV all together and just rent from Netflix. Can't wait for HD-DVD/BluRay!!!
