Thanks man. I'll keep an eye on that.

    HR2x / H21-H25 Software Release 11/1/11 v. 057B & 047B

So, how do you monitor the stream to be able to tell what's there?

Does your HR24 get slower as the internal HDD is more full?

When one of my HR24s started getting about 20% remaining I did notice some slow down and even reset it a few times trying to make it work faster... sometime the reset worked and sometimes it didn't. However, it's been quite a while since I've noticed it being very slow and also quite a while...

    BBC America Acquires 'Battlestar Galactica'

BBCA used to show a lot of British TV, mainly from BBC. My wife (English) liked it for shows like East Enders. Then BBCA dropped that show and continued a slide toward 'not so British' stuff... or at least stuff that you wouldn't automatically associate with British TV. We went a couple...

Yet another switching from E* to D* customer

Also, do a search on the boolean search functions. Like the slip/skip settings, it's not inherently obvious how to make the HR24 perform like DishPass without the boolean search functions.

    HR24/H24 Supported video files

Yeah, it's just MPEG2 and, yeah, that's pretty ridiculous for an MPEG4 receiver but keep in mind, it's still beta... since 2008 I think. The MPEG2's audio has to be in a certain format too which is NOT the typical MPEG2 OTA broadcast format (don't remember the details here)...

    Weather Alert?

Well darn. That makes that feature pretty much worthless since I don't ever watch the weather channel unless I already know something is going on. tvropo, LOL

    Weather Alert?

While watching TV tonight, noticed some lightening outside so I switched to the weather channel. After about 30 seconds or so, a loud tone played for a few seconds with a message at the top of the screen... something to the effect of a weather alert in my area and to press the red button for...

    I Finally Did it!!

After having both, I think you'll be happier with DirecTV... BUT I never really understand why people switch providers over provider contract disputes. E* is not the only one that battles with the networks. Now that you've switched, the next time there is a dispute you don't like, it may be...

    New HD channels coming!

Yeah, I actually have HBO and this is still ho hum to me. Once you get one HBO channel, they all pretty much show the same stuff. BBCA would be the big one for us. After that, there's no real biggies that I'd care about. Would like to see more of the educational channels go HD like History...

    D* and signal cutouts?????

Without knowing any numbers, it sounds like your installer didn't do a good job at pointing the dish. I had the same thing when I switched to D earlier this year. Even mist about a third of the Super Bowl (but there was some weather that night). I ran across the diagnostic bit in the menu...

One change you'd make to the D* receiver

Come on guys, what I wrote wasn't that difficult to understand or even that difficult to understand why I'd want it. I did actually acknowledge that you could see the original air date. I did say it wasn't that useful in knowing sequence unless you actually KNEW the air dates which is not...

One change you'd make to the D* receiver

Uuuuh, NO! Last I checked, the 722 didn't do anything remotely similar to MRV in HD which is first necessary before one can accommodate my number one wish feature: Complete system load sharing such that all turners are shared between DVRs/receivers and all hard drives are shared between all...

Thinking of switching to DirecTV - Need some info

Digi, your DishNetwork setup sounds a lot like mine. I had a single 722 with tv2 output going to 4 other rooms. Two of those four rooms had HDTVs and two had SDTVs. The two HDTVs had no HD access but at least had DVR access throughout the house. As soon as Directv offered the MRV, I wanted...

    AM21..... why?

With a splitter, you don't have to make a choice between the two. You can record via OTA and use your TV's tuner to watch live so that's not really an 'either/or' type situation.
  16. Mr Zulu

    AM21..... why?

I still have my OTA Antennas up from my DishNetwork days and am in the middle of contemplating taking them down or ordering an AM21. The reason I'd want the AM21 is that the OTA signal is more reliable. I was at someone else's house so it really didn't effect me but my recording of the Super...

for those that have recently come from dish

Just figured out that the HR24 has some hidden search Boolean/Scope features which I discussed here: http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-forum/221337-former-dish-net-new-customers-read-11.html#post2456795 It completely solved my issues with the keyword search/autorecord 'lack of options'. So...

Former Dish Net / New Customers Read This

Here's something that people coming from DishNetwork need to know and someone who's more familiar with it should make a sticky about on the forum just for this. It's the Boolean Logic search features and Scope filters that the DirecTV DVRs can do. With them, the keyword search/autorecord...

For you that have recently started service with DTV what type of HD DVR did you get?

I ordered online from DTV last month. When scheduling the install, there was a place to leave a note to the installer. I typed "If you do not have 2 HR24s and an H24, call me to reschedule for after you receive your next shipment." He had the HR24s and the H24 so we didn't reschedule and I...

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

Ahhh, thank you so much. I'm pretty sure they were. Those instructions in the box should say 'if applicable' or something to that effect next to the part about packing up the switch! I've spent hours looking around here for that damned switch!

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

1 vip722 One dish says Dishnetwork 500 and the other says Dishnetwork 1000 on it. The LNBs I have here and on the 'label' one has Dish Pro Digital LNBF BS1B1UP001M and the other has dp Plus Digital LNBF A71201-WF07009SQ.

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

I didn't realize that some didn't need one. So how do I know that I needed one in the first place. Maybe that's why I can't find it. I certainly wasn't looking for it while I was taking down the satellite gear.

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

It does say so on the letter inside the box but it's the first time I'd heard that. It would have been nice to have been told this two weeks ago when I was taking down the satellite equipment off the house. Finding it then would have been easy. I had it in my mind to rethink things in a...

Lost absolute now I have to pay to send their equipment back.

That was a big 'forget to mention' with the person I talked to on the phone as well. I would have had no problem finding it then, but now... So, how much do I get charged for this switch? I'm trying not to leave with a bitter taste in my mouth but Dish seems pretty damned determined.
