Please pardon my ignorance in the topic, but what do you mean by "manual recordings"? I don't use Dish pass at all so that's no loss, but I do record alot. Also, if I were to upgrade, can I take my current EHD unplug it from the 622, plug it into the 922, and be able to access all my old recordings?

You are right, sorry. I hadn't heard that until I read the press release. Anyhow, I guess I'll just wait longer until this bad boy can pipe a signal to my bedroom like my ol' trusty 622 (whose hdmi is out btw!)

I've waited all this time, to find that it will not work for me since I use my VIP622 to watch Dish in my living room and master bedroom. This sucks.
