Quinn's a great guy with an outstanding work ethic. He says all the right things and is a born leader. You'll like him a lot.

I tend to side with those who say he wasn't given enough time in Cleveland. I hope he succeeds in this league.

Seahawks acquire QB Whitehurst

The Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers have completed a trade that sends third-string Chargers quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to Seattle for draft picks.

Matt Hasselbeck, 34, remains Seattle's starting quarterback, but the 27-year-old Whitehurst could be viewed as the quarterback for the future.

Yeah, it's a strange move, and then they give the guy an $8-10m contract.

Dropped 20 spots (40th to 60th) in a draft with some really good talent and gave up a 3rd next year for a QB who's played 4 snaps and never thrown a pass during a game that counts and probably takes the Seahawks out of the mix for Brandon Marshall.

Whitehurst could be good, but could never get past Philip Rivers and Billy Volek, who are both very good. Chargers will take that #40 pick and say "Thank You, Seattle", and probably draft a practice squad QB with their other 2nd round pick.

We picked up some good tight ends.
I would love to see Crumpler and Watson together, they both are good blockers and good hands from Alge...can't say the same for Ben.

I still think we need to add another good WR besides Moss and Welker...but we all know Welker will be out most likely this whole year.

I still think we need to address our main issues right now, and that's our pass rush, Banta-Cain can't be the only decent patriot rusher, we need more dominant DE's and a really good Strong LB because Adalius Thomas has been disappointing for the last 2 years....he needs to be let go soon.

Pacman was going to hold a workout for interested teams today and was a no-show. He was meeting the Lions prior to the workout so it's speculated that he signed a contract with them and just stiffed everyone else. There was no reason given for his non-appearance.

Saints coaches and Chiefs and Texans scouts were present.

It's difficult to blame Calvin Johnson for wanting to get past 2009. He battled through knee injuries. His numbers fell across the board. His Lions won only two games.
Johnson admitted in a piece by Tim Twentyman of The Detroit News that the losing got to him.
"Losing always gets to you," he said Thursday at the Lions' practice facility. "If you are a competitor, you hate losing. But you have to know it's part of the game. The big thing for me this year is to stay healthy so I can be out there every Sunday so I can help."
That's really to be expected. But what really catches your eye is when Johnson claims he saw single coverage in less than 10 percent of his snaps last season. That's not a lot of snaps. Which is why Johnson said he was ecstatic about the arrival of Nate Burleson from the Seahawks.
"I think he can be a big factor," Johnson said. "Nate has some speed. He has great run after the catch. I look forward to seeing him get the ball so he can make some moves and get down the field."
The Lions are conducting their offseason conditioning program this week, so there will be more from Detroit, including official visits — LT Russell Okung was there earlier this week, DT Gerald McCoy was scheduled to arrive Wednesday night, and DT Ndamukong Suh is in for a two-day visit starting Thursday.

I think its time for him to leave the Lions and join the Pats!

Hmmm, wait till morning and they might not be able to prove anything

Suspicion usually means blood tests haven't come back and/or he hasn't been charged.

He was pulled over for changing lanes without signaling and then did poorly w/ the field sobriety tests, was arrested and held overnight.

Good thing nobody ran out in front of him like Stallworth's DUI (who passed his field sobriety tests, and only became a DUI when blood tests came back)

I tend to agree with PFT on the punishment for NFL players busted for DUI, they should lose a year. Clearly the current potential punishment is too little.
