Grounding Procedure
1. Install an Approved Dual Grounding Block inside the
building within 5’ of the P.O.E. if at all possible
2. NOTE: If the GB is installed outdoors it MUST be installed
in a weatherproof housing
2. Install a #14 Copper Ground Wire from the Grounding
screw on the ODU a lug attached to the antenna mast
3. Install a #14 Copper Ground Wire from the lug on the
mast to the dual grounding block and from the GB to an
approved grounding point
4. NOTE: If Quad Shield Cable is used you do not have to run
a separate ground conductor from the ODU/Mast to the
Ground Block
Do Not Ground To:
1. Driven Ground Rod
2. Conduit on Load Side
3. Gutters
4. Metal Roof or screws securing the metal roof
5. Vents or Vent Pipes
6. HVAC Chassis, Condensation Pipe, or Gas Pipe
from HVAC units. (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning)
7. Metal Screens or Windows
Approved Potential Ground Points
There are 5 Approved Ground Points that you
can use to ground your installation.
1. Grounded Structural Steel Member
2. Service Equipment Enclosure
3. Grounded Interior Metal Water Pipe
4. Metallic Power Service Raceway
5. Building Ground Conductor
